Changing primary email address on a non-email AppleID

I have a really old Apple ID that is not an email-address but only a name. My primary email is my @mac.com address. On appleid.apple.com there is no way to change the primary address. I can only add more email addresses under "reachable at".

So how do I change the primary address?

But I don't wanna change my Apple ID, but only the associated email address.
